Equinox Ski Challenge ushers in spring season with final celebration of winter
Celebrate the Spring Equinox this Saturday and Sunday at the Equinox Ski Challenge in West Yellowstone. Cross-country skiers of all abilities are invited to attend the challenge which pits relay teams of up to eight members against one another in friendly competition.
The goal of the Equinox Ski Challenge is to complete as many laps per team as possible on the Rendezvous Ski Trails. Divisions are available for all age groups from kids to seniors. Race times range from 24-minute kids races to a 24-hour marathon division.

The West Yellowstone Ski Education Foundation is a non-profit group that aims to promote cross-country skiing through education, facility development and participation. Manaia is a Livingston-based non-profit that works to empower individuals, families and communities through transformational personal development.
The Equinox Ski Challenge will include a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday night with beverages and a bonfire at the finish line. Participants are encouraged to bring canned-food items to donate to the West Yellowstone Food Bank.
Start time for racing is at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Cost for the challenge is $75 for adults, $60 for juniors. Kids ski for free.
