Bozeman Boulder Initiative to host fundraiser at Emerson Cutlural Center
The weather is warming up and local climbers are shifting gear from ice to rock. Just in time for the spring climbing season, the Bozeman Boulder Initiative will hold a fundraising event entitled “Climb On!” on March 31, 2010 to support the construction of recreational climbing boulders in Bozeman city parks.
The first boulder constructed by the Bozeman Boulder Initiative is located in Langhor Gardens. The boulder draws dozens of climbers on summer days.
“Climb On!” will feature discussion by renowned climbers Jack Tackle and Tom Kingsbury. Tackle will talk about fast and light alpine climbing in Alaska. Kingsbury will discuss bouldering in Southwest Montana and some of the area’s most challenging bouldering problems.
The evening’s events will include a silent auction and community slideshow.
“Climb On!” will be held at the Emerson Cultural Center on Wednesday. A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. with presentations sent to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket for “Climb On!” are $10. Kids 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Tickets are available at Northern Lights Trading Company, Barrel Mountaineering and Spire Climbing Center.
