Theives steal equipment from Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, FWP seeks information
Here’s a new low in the world of criminality: Some jokers broke into the maintenance building at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park and stole a bunch of power tools and equipment.
According to an FWP press release, the theft occurred sometime between the evening of Friday, Jan 21 and the early morning of Saturday, Jan 22. The thieves made off with an air compressor, generator, chop saw, various automotive tools, a blow torch, drill press, a pressure washer, welder and part of a tool chest.
This is not only a bad deal for Lewis & Clark Caverns, which relies on those tools for the day-to-day maintenance of the park, but for all Montana residents who will be footing the bill in the form of tax dollars to replace the stolen equipment.
FWP is seeking information on the theft. Many of the stolen items were marked with “LC,” “LCC” or “Lewis & Clark Caverns.” If you happen to spot any of these items on the pawn shop circuit, do the rest of us a favor and notify FWP.
The following is the FWP press release in its entirety:
